Blood Line A Thriller Granger Spy Novel Series Book 1 John J Davis Books

Although the story is pretty good and the writing, at times I felt like I was in high school. When a character explained the past the reading became long, boring and tedious. I felt like I was reading a history book instead of a book of fiction. I will read the second book. I will also stop reading it if I have to skip the characters stories of their past. I'm out of school and do not want a history lesson.

Blood Line A Thriller Granger Spy Novel Series Book 1 John J Davis Books Reviews

A bit fanciful for my taste. James Bond marries Lara Croft, they retire a few years have a child prodigy carbon copy of mother and they all go off together to conquer evil.

But, some of the mechanical details are pretty well described. Wouldn't read book 2.
I didn't think I was going to like this book when I first started it. I had just finished another book by a different author that was very fast paced and detailed. This book started a bit slow and I was thinking it was going to be a book for older kids. I stayed with it and soon began to like the book a lot more. By the end I was happy that I had read it and I look forward to reading the next book in the series. If you stay with it I think you will like this book as well. Overall I would recommend it to my friends with no problem.
A three member, seemingly common, family are woken from an early morning sleep and the teen age daughter is nearly abducted by a very organized team of thieves. But they did not count on the wife and husband's former training eith a "very specialized" set of skills.
Written almost in a biographical style , that is if you had the most interesting biography ever. I found this a fun fast-paced and interesting story. The characters are also relatable and likable, it makes you want to run out and become a CIA operative! LOL. I recommend this book, if your up for an entertaining, interesting and upbeat, take on the serious subject of espionage.
The book reviews make the story sound very compelling and a top notch espionage novel. No at all. Very disappointing and not very plausible.

Way too much mom to daughter story telling as background fodder. I expected espionage as told by La Carre, Stienhauer, Silva or Mandell.
I like the characters, and like the bit of mystery that remains about each as the novel ends. Well written, intense pace. Plenty of detail, and excitement. Maybe not all believable, but I go along for the ride when I read, not overly analytic if the story keeps my interest and involvement.

Definitely recommend for spy thriller enthusiasts. Fun read!
OK, it's fiction, but even in fiction there needs to be more realism. Maybe, as a juvenile, this one would fly. As an adult novel, it just didn't add up to me.
That's not to say that others won't find it enjoyable. I suspect there are many who will. After all, there are those who enjoy reading about superheroes.
But I'm not reviewing based on what others might like but on what I like. I found too much superhuman slant, not nearly enough of how real people would behave. That detracted from the book. If the plot isn't believable, then the book's not there for me.
Although the story is pretty good and the writing, at times I felt like I was in high school. When a character explained the past the reading became long, boring and tedious. I felt like I was reading a history book instead of a book of fiction. I will read the second book. I will also stop reading it if I have to skip the characters stories of their past.
