In the beginning, this was a really feel good love story. Had me sighing with bated breath and rolling on the bed, clutching my pillow while I read how Chase's life had changed. Nikki was an interesting character, I thought she was charming and I especially liked how she didn't want to date jocks or football players. At first, I thought maybe she just wanted to be different, but later on I realized there was something else deeper that brought all this down on her. Chase also had issues, he was full of angst and anger and turned to drugs and alcohol and girls to forget. But his coping mechanism got the worst of him and soon I saw just how broken he was.

The book actually brought me back to my early college years - when I viewed the world as romantic and cruel at the same time. Because being in love was like that.

The first part of the book had me sighing and grinning but when I got to the other half, damn, I couldn't handle the erratic beating of my heart. I thought I was gonna implode and choke. You really won't know what's coming and you are left wondering why why why did it happen that way.. I could no longer stop the tears running down my cheeks, every single page, I cried, I sniffed, I sobbed uncontrollably. I was mad.

This is my first Lacey Weatherford book and I loved it, even though she made me cry a lot. Gotta read her next books! Maybe after I've dried my tears..

Wow, where do I begin. This was one of the best books I have read in a long time. I loved how it had his (Chase) and her (Nikki) POV's, it just made it more interesting to understand them. This book is about a boy named Chase, who has had some difficult problems in his life, which led him to do bad things. His mother makes them move in with his grandparents in a little town. Chase was not close with his grandparents and didn't want anything to do with them. He starts as new schools and meets new friends and then suddenly a girl, Nikki walks in and takes his breath away. He does anything and everything to get her to go out with him. She of course turns him down and tell him to stay away. Nikki he been hurt by her former boyfriend and doesn't want a relationship with trouble makers. He still keeps t it until one day he gets her in trouble and he takes the blame. After she finds out what he did, she decides to give him a chance.

She makes him work hard for the date and he does whatever she wants. She finally figures out what he's like and gives in to dating him. Nikki has had a hard past too and things just click between them. After all they both have been through, they were good for each other. He started playing football again and stopped doing drugs. They decided it was time to take their relationship to the next level and meet up when her mom was out of town.

Chase waits on Nikki and she never shows up. I don't want to give the whole book away but Chase's life get turned upside down. This book make you smile, laugh and cry. This is a boom you don't want to miss and I can't wait to read the others.
This was my first book Lacey. When the book starts out Chase is in a very bad place because of the tragedy he has just been through just a few months before. Chase is into drugs, alcohol, and anything kind of quick hook up to take all the pain away. What Chase didn’t realize were all those things were not really helping him in the long run. When Chase gets into trouble his mom decides it’s time to move. So they move to this smaller town and of course Chase falls right back into his old habits quickly. Chase still has his care free attitude and still plans on doing the same this until he sees Nikki. Nikki changes everything for Chase right at the very beginning. She does not lay down for him and makes him work hard to even have her attention. I really like Nikki even though the story was told from Chase’s POV, we still get to see the sweet girl Nikki was. She was always there to support Chase when he was having a bad day and I noticed a huge change in Chase right away. The longer these two stayed together the better they became for each other. THEN the story takes a HUGE turn. I still do not know how I feel about the ending to this book. I mainly gave this book a 4 because of the ending. To say I was shocked was a complete understatement!!! I did not see that coming from a mile away. So be prepared when you read this the ending is insane!!! I know there are 2 more books to the series but I have not decided if I am reading them yet because my heart is still broken.
I really like the h in this story. She is sweet, smart, wholesome, confident, caring, responsible, and pretty much perfect. The H isn't too bad either, just misunderstood. They are a great couple. I can really only give this 4.5 stars, because I don't think I will read this again. Not because it isn't good, but because it caused some seriously ugly crying I'm not ready to repeat anytime soon. I totally did not see the ending. That was some intense, crazy, holy cow stuff. I would definitely recommend.
