Beautiful book that I hope to keep in my collection for a long time! One nice surprise when I received the book was the gold page edges. Wasn't mentioned in the book's description but definitely a nice touch! Also, the book cover is more of a pewter color in real life and not as yellow as it looks online.Tags : The Vampire Chronicles: Interview with a Vampire, Vampire Lestat and the Queen of the Damned (Leatherbound Classics) [Anne Rice] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Vampire Chronicles Interview with a Vampire Vampire Lestat and the Queen of the Damned Leatherbound Classics Anne Rice 9780307291653 Books Reviews
I had seen two of the books in cinema form. These books fill in between the lines, especially The Queen of the Damned. In this book, I learned of the motivation for the Queens acts against humanity, and the twins interplay with the final assembly of characters.
I love the three books as individuals but this was a let down. The three books have been smashed into one large book but each book’s print becomes smaller and smaller. Interview is fine, Lestat’s print is too small for me to read, and by the time you get to Queen of the Damned just forget it. The print is so small for my old eyes I cannot read it. I bought this book so that I could have larger print. I have now bought them individually. This is fine for my daughter, although she also says the change in print size is annoying.
Classic Rice very clever and insightful. Her discovery that vampires are more science than supernatural is riveting and inspiring. Such a twist!
Anne Rice does a wonderful job of writing in a way that makes a fictitious topic seem real. She describes different places and people so the reader get lost in the "pages." You feel like you are watching the story as it unfolds. The books include such a wide variety of characters that you find yourself hating a character one moment and then completely changing your opinion.
I have read this book cover to cover, this 3 book compilation of the start of the Vampire chronicle series. The leather-binding is fantastic, with imprinted textured lettering. The pages are premium quality paper that is soft and durable. The edges are golden edge sealed not only protecting the paper, but giving the book's 'thickness' the look of gold.
Not to mention the VALUE of getting 3 books in 1, which saves Space, Money (shipping+ 3 separate books), and mankes the reading experience convenient in a sense of now you can keep reading right on to the next novel.
NO Batteries, No apps, No charging. No eyestrain from the electronic reader. A Must have for Rice readers / Vampire enthusiasts.
I bought this book used and it came as expected. In all honesty, it was in even better condition than I expected so that’s great. My only issue I had was getting the sticker off the back (which I’m aware isn’t a huge issue unless you’re a collector of books like me) but eventually I removed it with goo-gone. All in all, I’m very satisfied.
First read this book the month is was first released. Read it in 10 hours, it was that good. Couldn't put it down, it was like binging on a box of the best chocolates in the world. I have read it countless times since then and it never, ever gets old. EVER! I consider Anne Rice to be one of a small handful of writers to be truly gifted. One of the best writers of this century. I truly consider her books to be thought provoking, allowing the reader to follow the character as they examine their natures, souls and the concepts of right, wrong, good , and evil. I know that I continue to examine mine every time I read this series.
Beautiful book that I hope to keep in my collection for a long time! One nice surprise when I received the book was the gold page edges.
